Fellowship

Fellowship at St. Mary’s

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
–1 Thessalonians 5:11

Fellowship is defined as "Friendly association, especially with people who share one's interests."

The Fellowship Committee plans and executes social activities bringing together friends and parishioners at  St. Mary’s to strengthen and build relationships across the community.. Activities include Sunday breakfast, coffee hour, parish picnic, annual October Seafood Fest, international dinners, and more!

The committee members meet regularly to share ideas and strives to find a balance of activities for all.

The Fellowship Committee welcomes your involvement, your ideas, your love, and your enthusiasm.   The committee members plan together, test the status quo, and execute events with love and enthusiasm. We are looking for folks to spearhead and lead activities as well as to create and inspire new activities to generate enthusiasm and excitement in our church community. In addition to leaders, we also need committee members who can roll up their sleeves and contribute their time and talent to make events happen.  To learn more or to get involved, please contact a member of the Fellowship Committee.

Coffee Hour

Each Sunday from September to June after the 10:30am service, the St. Mary's family gathers in Shaffer Hall to spend some fellowship time together and have a snack. During the summer months when there is just one service at 9 am, everyone gathers outside on the loggia for cool refreshments—usually iced tea instead of coffee.

Volunteers are needed to host these coffee hours, and it's very easy to do:

  • Choose a snack (bagels, cookies, donuts, coffee cake) to provide enough for about 40 people

  • Arrive at church 30 minutes before the service and set up your refreshments (we'll help you learn how to make coffee!)

  • After you receive communion, head right to Shaffer hall or the loggia to make any last-minute adjustments and to make more coffee, if necesssary

  • After coffee hour, place the coffee cups in the dishwasher, start the dishwasher and leave

To sign up to host Coffee Hour, please look for the sign-up sheet in Shaffer Hall.  If you have questions, please contact the office at St. Mary’s.
