WINKS will be participating in Operation Christmas Child in 2010!!!

Operation Christmas Child
brings joy and hope to children ages 2 to 14 in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe.  This program of provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on mission project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas.

This is a great way to give those free toothbrushes, toothpaste, school supplies, bars of soap, unopened happy meal toys, hard candy, etc. You can see a list of suggested items for packing the shoeboxes here.

Donations can be dropped off at St. Mary's between January and November, or you can bring the items to the "Shoebox packing and wrapping party" in early November.

We will be collecting items for three age groups divided by gender (2-4), (5-9), and (10-14).

Please start collecting shoe boxes, and shop for toys and goodies on sale throughout the year!  You can purchase 6 quart plastic containers at Wal-Mart, Target, etc. or online at here
. These boxes are a gift in itself.

I hope all of you decide to participate in this wonderful ministry which has sent gifts to millions of children who otherwise would not be receiving anything for Christmas.

Sincerely,
Monica Reiff
