Project Thanks

It’s that time to kick off the Holiday Season. Project Thanks is on November 22rd this year. For those of you not familiar with Project Thanks this has been a tradition at St Mary’s for over 30 years.

We donate and prepare a traditional Thanksgiving Feast for over 100 senior citizens in Sparta. For most of the Seniors, this is their Holiday Dinner. This event is sponsored by your Outreach Committee and many helping hands. The Senior and Junior Youth Group help to serve the meal.

There are a number of ways you can be part of putting this Celebration together, such as shopping, setting up, roasting a bird with your favorite dressing and gravy, peeling ,chopping, serving and clean-up. This is a great hands-on Outreach Project.

We will gather on Saturday ,November 21rd ,at 9am, in the kitchen at St Mary’s, to peel ,cook and mash over 100 lbs. of potatoes. We will cook the carrots, fill the cranberry cups, and set up the Dining Room at Knoll Heights Village. On Sunday after the 10:30 Service, we will transport the meal and the Party begins.

Please look for more information as we get closer, or speak with Cathy Vonderahe to choose where you would like to help.
