On September 15th, the Rt. Rev. Mark M. Bechwith, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark, made his biennial visit to St. Mary's. In addition to being our celebrant and homilist at worship, Bishop Beckwith reconsecrated our Memorial Garden that was damaged in Super Storm Sandy, blessed two new chalices and a paten wood turned from trees downed in the storm, had pictures taken with the fifteen persons who were either confirmed or received at the Cathedral in April, met with the congregation in a forum, and had lunch and a meeting with the Vestry and diocesan convention delegates. The weather was beautiful, the sanctuary full in both number and spirit, and the bell choir and choir both at their highest performance level; it was a glorious day!
