So all your travelers are now safely home,
prayerfully rested and with their internal clocks properly adjusted. I was very fortunate to arrive
home in time to be with my husband at the passing of a dear family dog,
Zippy. It occurred to me,
that like my fellow pilgrims, Zippy accompanied me through a portion of my
life's journey. It reminds me
how important the journeys of our lives are - how we walk each day and who
we are travelling with. Thus, I give
thanks for all my fellow travelers, and I do miss those with whom I may no
longer walk. As a conclusion to my scribe responsibilities, I
wanted to leave you with the promised web-site for the school that we
visited, The Holy Land Institute for the Deaf. It is www.allah-kariem.org and you can click on the word Welcome to view the website in
English. Allah kariem means
"God provides." You can sign
"God provides" by holding your fisted right hand upright with your thumb
and forefinger pointed upright (this is God). Then place the wrist of your open
left hand (poised as though you are handing a gift to someone) under the
wrist of your "God" hand. It
is a beautiful symbol of a wonderful ministry, and a poignant reminder
that all that we are and have is a gift from
God. The peace of the Lord be always with
you. Ross, the scribe All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful:
the Lord God made them all. Each little flower that opens,
each little bird that sings,
God made their glowing colors,
and made their tiny wings.
(Refrain) The purple-headed mountains,
the river running by,
the sunset and the morning
that brightens up the sky.
(Refrain) The cold wind in the winter,
the pleasant summer sun,
the ripe fruits in the garden:
God made them every one.
(Refrain) God gave us eyes to see them,
and lips that we might tell
how great is God Almighty,
who has made all things well.
(Refrain) | ||
